What? How? Where?
Growing up in the church, I can't tell you the number of times I've heard sermons on this particular passage about going somewhere and making disciples. If you have spent any time in the church, I'm sure you too have heard this passage preached or taught in some way as well.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matt 28:19-20
Growing up in the church, I can't tell you the number of times I've heard sermons on this particular passage about going somewhere and making disciples without ever being taught how to do it. If you have spent any time in the church, I'm sure you too have heard this passage preached or taught in some way as well.
The biggest problem with the sermons or Sunday schools lessons around this text is that the speaker often always gives the "what" of Jesus's message but they never tie together the "how" or the "where" to understand the connection, power, and application.
Surely Jesus didn't set the disciples up for failure and give them a command they couldn't execute.
Of course not!
He just doesn't tell them the "how" or the "where" until right before He returns back to the Father in Acts 1:8.
